Our story

Welcome to The Wraight Stuff!

A little bit about how we came to be...

Earlier this year I read about a seal which had been found with a plastic bag stuck around its neck. Thankfully, due to the heroic efforts of St Mary's Wildlife Conservation Society, a local Dolphin Watch Group and the BDLMR, the seal was rescued.

Most (if not all) people will be aware that this was not an isolated incident of wildlife being harmed by plastic pollution in the ocean, so I started to think about what could be done to help.

I decided to start making it my daily mission to fill a bag with plastic/other rubbish I find on the beach during my daily dog walks. But what to do with all the plastic?? If I put it straight in the bin it would end up in landfill and not all of the plastic I find is suitable for recycling.

It was then that I decided to transform the plastics and other items I find into wonderfully unique gifts and art, and thus, The Wraight Stuff was born!

We then started designing clothing, bags and other items in order to expand our portfolio and donate a portion of all proceeds to local wildlife charities.

Here are 5 facts about The Wraight Stuff:

1. We are a (very) small independent business.

2. We design all of our own products.

3. All of our products are wrapped in sustainable, recyclable packaging.

4. We reduce postage costs and fuel emissions by delivering local orders ourselves (usually during dog walks).

5. Buying from us supports a small business, helps to reduce plastic pollution and also supports local charities!
